Announcing the 2026 Project UpLift Partner: The Menopause Foundation of Canada

Project UpLift is our way of giving back by contributing pro bono research support to a Canadian not-for-profit organization working to make a meaningful difference.

We are pleased to share that the recipient of Project UpLift 2026 is the Menopause Foundation of Canada (MFC).

About the Menopause Foundation of Canada

The Menopause Foundation of Canada was established to raise awareness about the impact of menopause on women—and on society more broadly.

Their mission is to eliminate the stigma and taboos that continue to surround menopause and to ensure this important women’s health issue is properly recognized and supported across our healthcare system, workplaces, public policy, and communities.

Menopause affects roughly half the population. Yet for many, it remains under-discussed, misunderstood, and insufficiently supported. The Menopause Foundation of Canada is working to change that through advocacy, education, and research.

The Focus of Project UpLift 2026

Through Project UpLift 2026, Upwords will partner with the Menopause Foundation of Canada to better understand the experiences of underserved communities navigating perimenopause and menopause.

The research will explore the lived realities of individuals whose perspectives are often absent from mainstream conversations about menopause, including:

  • barriers to awareness and information

  • challenges accessing care and support

  • gaps in existing resources and systems

  • how community organizations currently support those navigating this life stage

The goal is to generate actionable insights that can help strengthen advocacy efforts and inform more equitable support systems.

Why This Work Matters

Despite affecting millions of Canadians, menopause continues to carry stigma and misunderstanding. For many individuals—particularly those in underserved communities—this can translate into limited access to information, healthcare resources, and supportive environments.

Research can play an important role in changing that.

By bringing forward lived experiences and translating them into credible evidence, insights can help inform better programs, stronger advocacy, and more informed public conversations.

Looking Ahead

We are honoured to partner with the Menopause Foundation of Canada on this important work through Project UpLift 2026.

At Upwords, we believe that insights have the power to inspire change—and we look forward to helping elevate the voices and experiences that deserve greater visibility in conversations about women’s health.

We look forward to sharing updates as the research progresses!
